The Benefits of Paying It Forward with Julie Colombino
“Be The Change You Want To See In The World.” ~ Mohandas Gandhi
It’s interesting how all of our experiences personally and professionally leads us to participate in something profound if we choose to listen to the voice within. Calls to action attach themselves to our thoughts and moments that we witness daily. Confidently choosing to respond to the call of action that turns into traveling along an unknown path, is supported by three truths. The truths are to trust the journey, your intuition, and each moment that produces a shift of greatness and strength within to accomplish phenomenal and impactful work.
Episode 12 of The Confidence Conversation features Julie Colombino, Founder/CEO of REBUILD globally and CEO of Deux Mains Designs. Julie is a former model, acrobat, and foreign aid worker who felt called to respond to Haiti after the earthquake devastated the country in 2010. After months of working in the disaster zone she recognized that simply giving people things could only help so much, she worked with the survivors and the community to rebuild their lives and livelihoods. Julie developed a team of like-minded visionaries that created a social entrepreneurial ecosystem that works to end poverty through the productions of high fashion and up-cycled tire sandals. Julie and her team created the structure and training necessary to ensure Deux Mains is owned and operated by the survivors who dreamt of its inception. Julie is going to share with us how she is confidently and courageously working to end generational poverty, one step at a time. By empowering people to make and sell products that the global community purchases because they are valued products, not out of sympathy but dignity restored.
